Learn to brew your own summer ale using herbs, and other natural materials, while exploring the history of brewing and it’s sacred role in various cultures and celebrations. Brewer Christopher Smyth will teach participants to brew a seasonal ale- just in time to share with friends and family for the summer picnic or barbeque. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss modern brewing techniques, as well as historical sacred brewing. Experience the entire brewing process: from choosing the herbs and recipes, to bottling your own brew.

Summer Ale Class is a part of Grailville’s 2013 Good Earth/Good Eats + Good Arts Series, building skills to help us live lightly and well on the Earth we share. Experience the connections between people, the earth and the food we eat, and enjoy hands-on arts activities exploring both the beauty of the earth and your own creativity.
Summer Ale Class is offered on Sunday, May 19, from 1:00 pm- 5:00 pm at Grailville Retreat & Program Center, 932 O’Bannonville Road, Loveland OH. Tuition is $35 plus $5 material fee paid to the instructor. Reservations are required. Some scholarships may be available.
